Yoga is something that has been around for a very long time indeed, it formed in India and was there centuries before it came into the west. Asana is actually what it is called but we call it yoga in the western world, I guess it makes sense. I am guessing that the reason we call it yoga is because it just makes sense to do it here.
Yoga is out there to try and restore a person’s well-being, help to improve flexibility in the body and of course allows people to actually sit still for more than five minutes at a time which is always a good thing. A lot of people think that Yoga is a really easy exercise to get into but this is not the case at all. I will admit that I cannot do a single pose when it comes to Yoga but am a keen exerciser. The people that are a bit bigger think it is an easy way to lose the pounds but once again this is not true.
Asana actually refers to two main things and it is where the person is sitting and the manner in which they are sitting too which is where all of the different positions come from.
Once you get into this kind of thing a popular choice next is to go on one of those yoga holidays and these are great because it allows the person to perhaps learn positions that they have not used before. Spa holidays lead on directly from this and many people will mix the two together when they go away on their travels.

In terms of the yoga I would say go to India where you can learn how everything is done in the real world over there.
